Our Work

We work differently

We like to work closely with trustees and owners to develop the thinking and solutions together.

We know we don't know everything. Instead we build teams of specialists and bring in expert advice at the appropriate times throughout the journey.

We like to see things through. By starting with a project feasibility that we help you turn into a business, we can help enterprise thrive on your whenua.

Tourism opportunity

A passionate Trust with whenua in a unique location, stunning outlook, but some curly challenges. Te Hono worked along side the Trust and sector specialists to identify what's possible and how it can be achieved.

Shared services and data strategy

Eight closely associated Iwi post settlement governance entities (PSGEs) were striving to develop a shared services model that could ensure a high standard of service delivery, whilst gaining advantages from new ways of sharing and using data.

Land-locked land

Te Puni Kokiri were running a pilot project to better understand land-locked land challenges and their potential solutions. Te Hono worked with three trusts to better understand their unique access issues, how this was impacting their current and future land use options and moemoeā, and flesh out viable options to resolve these issues.

Horticulture

The Directors of Te Hono were part of the scoping, set up and implementation of Huakiwi; eight kiwifruit orchards on Māori freehold Land. The programme involved carefully identified land blocks with the right growing conditions and owners who wanted to develop the whenua. An expert team was also required to navigate the Poutama, build and establish the orchard, and then run it as a top performing orchard. The revenue generated from this pays back back the development to return a fully functioning asset to the owners.

Don’t think you have to resources to make it happen?
